AQUAPOD+ BLUE TECHNOLOGY FOR CLEANER SEAS
The project AQUAPOD+ – Blue Technology for Cleaner Seas was supported by a grant from Norway through the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014–2021, within the Programme “Business Development and Innovation Croatia”.
The main objective of the project was the development of an innovative technical solution for the removal of marine litter from enclosed sea basins and waterfront areas such as marinas, ports and working harbours.
AQUAPOD+ represents an advanced system designed to collect floating waste and pollutants, contributing to cleaner coastal environments and improved environmental management in nautical infrastructure.
Project Promoter:
MARSERVIS d.o.o., Croatia

ECOcube
The ECOcube project was supported by a grant from Norway through the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014–2021, within the Programme “Business Development and Innovation Croatia”.
The main objective of the project was the development and market introduction of the innovative blue product “ECOcube” – an ecological island designed for the reception of solid waste and wastewater from vessels operating in marinas, ports and coastal areas.
ECOcube enables systematic collection of waste and wastewater, contributing to cleaner marine environments and improved environmental standards in nautical infrastructure.
Project Promoter:
MARSERVIS d.o.o., Croatia
Project Partner:
CSS – Clean Sea Solutions AS, Norway
Project Results:
Development, completion, testing and validation of the ECOcube prototype
in an operational environment
Development of a pre-production prototype with innovative bio-materials
applied in the production process
Application of low-carbon materials and renewable energy sources
Implementation of solar cells within the product
Reuse and recycling of collected plastic, glass, paper and metal
Mitigation of water pollution through annual recycling of approximately 3.6 tonnes of collected material
Expected Impact:
Increase in turnover
Increase in net operating profit
Creation of new jobs
Development of new intellectual property rights
Reduction of CO₂ emissions and energy consumption
